This hiking in Rhodope mountain is a fine combination, offering magnificent panoramic views over the hills and valleys. A sightseeing stop at Shiroka Laka an architectural and folklore reserve, presenting typical XIXc. village. Visit to the Ethnographical museum in Shiroka Laka. Opportunity to dip in a hot mineral pool or enjoy some SPA procedures at the end of the day, before heading back to Plovdiv along a panoramic road overlooking the Vacha river and it’s dams.

Note: Along with the hike to Rhodope mountain, this tour can be combined with a visit to Bachkovo monastery or Asen’s fortress.

Itinerary

Pick up from the hotel in Plovdiv;

Transfer (approx. 90 min.) to the starting point of the hike.

There are three vista points in about 2-3 hours hiking through the pristine forests of the Rhodope mountains. Follows a stop in Shiroka Laka with some time to enjoy the XIXc. architecture and soak in the authentic atmosphere of a Bulgarian village. Get to know more about the history, culture and the life of the people in the region by visiting the local ethnographic museum situated in the house of a rich sheep breeder.

Another short drive (approx. 40 min.) before the relaxing time in a hot mineral pool, a fine way to end an active day outdoors.

Transfer back to the hotel in Plovdiv (approx. 90 min.).
